Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) today proudly launched the second title in its When I Grow Up (WIGU) reader series for Book Week 2025, bringing the total number of titles in the series to thirty. When I Grow Up I Want to be a Police Officer – featuring Sylvia Reu, LM, DPS, Chief Inspector Liaison Officer to Police Minister, and teams from the Royal Papua New Guinea Police Constabulary (RPNGC) – was launched at the Water Police Headquarters in Konedobu, where the Buk bilong Pikinini students and team were warmly welcomed by the Water Police Deputy Director, Inspector Giwi Yaku and team.

Lae, Morobe Province – Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) celebrated a joyful and educational event today at its newly opened St. Steven Library Learning Centre (LLC) in Lae on Thursday, with special guests from the Lae Biscuit Company (LBC), Lewa Biscuit and some of the Lae Snax Tigers players as well as their highly entertaining tiger mascot, Solomon. Lae Snax Tigers players in attendance were Joel Gena, Walter David, Joshua Miall, Reynolds Tai, Bradley Orosambo as well as their coach, Noel Zeming.
BUK BILONG PIKININI’S BREAKFAST PROGRAM SHOWS POSITIVE IMPACT ON CHILDREN’S LEARNING
The successful pilot of Buk bilong Pikinini’s (BbP) Breakfast Program with support from Sanitarium, Australian Export Consortia and Market 2000 has demonstrated significant improvements in children’s alertness, classroom engagement, and educational outcomes. Launched in Term Four of 2024 in one of BbP’s library learning centre (LLC), the program now looks to be expanded across all LLCs in 2025 as part of BbP’s Nutrition Education Program (NEP) with donor support.

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – March 7, 2025 – Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) is proud to announce the reopening of its newly renovated Library Learning Centre (LLC) at the Port Moresby General Hospital’s Children’s Malnutrition Ward 3C. The library learning corner at the Port Moresby General Hospital was originally opened on April 08th 2007. The reopening, that has taken place today Friday, March 7, 2025, marks an exciting milestone for the organization as it unveils a newly renovated and expanded learning space for children receiving treatment at the hospital.
