Buk bilong Pikinini Joins Trukai Fun Run to Promote Healthy Living

Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) proudly took part in the 2025 Trukai Fun Run on Sunday, 22 June, joining communities across the country in promoting healthy, active, and empowered lifestyles. With the generous support of Trukai Industries and the PNG Olympic Committee, the event was a vibrant celebration of health and community spirit.

Children from BbP’s Tatana Library Learning Centre, accompanied by their parents and guardians, participated in the run alongside the wider BbP team. The atmosphere was filled with joy, excitement, and shared purpose.

A highlight of the day was the lively appearance of the beloved Tru & Kai mascots — characters from BbP’s popular children’s storybook series. Seeing them come to life thrilled children and adults alike, adding an extra layer of magic to the occasion.

The Tru & Kai storybook and BbP's Nutrition Guide and Activity Book, supported by Trukai Ltd, teaches children the value of healthy eating in a fun and engaging way. It encourages young readers to discover how nutritious foods — or super foods — can give them “superpowers” like strength, speed, focus, and energy.

This message ties in closely with Buk bilong Pikinini’s recently launched Nutrition Education Program, which is all about empowering children and their families to understand the benefits of healthy, affordable eating. Through storytelling, interactive activities, and practical resources, BbP is helping to build a generation of informed and health-conscious young Papua New Guineans.

BbP is committed to continuing the journey of Tru & Kai and bringing their important message to children across Papua New Guinea.
