Today will see the opening of an additional Motu Koitabu village Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) Library Learning Centre (LLC). The first was opened in Pari village in 2019, followed by Vabukori in 2022 as part of a public-private partnership between Steamships Ltd., National Capital District Commission, Motu Koita Assembly, the Baruni Community Development Association and BbP. BbP also has an LLC on Tatana Island in partnership with City Pharmacy Limited.

250 5-year-old students, from some of Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) Library Learning Centres in Port Moresby, have today had the opportunity to go on a field trip to the Nature Park to learn basic science skills. Armed with magnifying glasses the children took to the park with a mission to have a closer look at nature.

Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) has today held a celebration at its Koki Markets Library Learning Centre to welcome Tim Green and Luke Savage of Australia-based Green Cloud Consulting. Due to international border closures, the donors have not had the opportunity to meet the children and teachers at the library the company has sponsored since 2020.

In order to provide children enrolled at BbP’s Early Childhood Education Library Learning Centres, with the opportunity to learn to read and write, the organisation has a daily need for printing in high volumes.

Mini professional Architect Christabelle Rataga has today launched “When I Grow Up I want to be an Architect” together with Architect Emily Ipi from Pacific Palms Property and the PPP and Steamships teams.

As part of Book Week celebrations, Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) held an event to receive a generous donation of K50,000 from Theodist ltd. The donation will serve to support the organisation’s mission to improve education outcomes for PNG’s children.

Two more books were launched today as Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) continues to celebrate Book Week. The readers entitled “When I Grow Up I want to be a Pharmacist” and “When I Grow Up I want to be a Nurse” have been created to motivate children to seek a career in the health sector.
