Buk Bilong Pikinini and Nambawan Trophy Limited (NWTL) and Fone Haus Announce New Digital Learning Partnership

Buk Bilong Pikinini (BbP) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Nambawan Trophy Limited (NWTL) and Fone Haus, to support the organisation's Digital Learning (DL) Program through the donation of tablets.

The partnership will be officially recognised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by NWTL’s Executive Director, Yolande Gui, and BbP’s Executive Officer, Leanne Resson, at BbP's Vabukori Library Learning Centre on Thursday, 25 June 2026, observed by BbP and NWTL teams and students.

As part of the partnership, NWTL, through Fone Haus, will donate 60 Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G tablets, valued at a total of K80,000.00, to support BbP’s digital learning program across BbP's Library Learning Centres.

The tablets will be used in BbP's Digital Learning Program and will allow more students to access digital learning activities at the same time. They will also provide improved performance and faster loading times for the BbP App and educational videos, helping to create a better learning experience for children.

BbP’s Executive Officer, Leanne Resson, said the donation comes at an important time for the organisation and in her remarks said, "While this Memorandum of Understanding signing officially formalises our partnership with Nambawan Trophy Limited and Fone Haus, their support for Buk Bilong Pikinini is not new. Over the years, NWTL has consistently responded positively whenever we have reached out for assistance, and we are sincerely grateful for their ongoing commitment to improving educational opportunities for children in Papua New Guinea. The tablets being donated through this partnership will directly support Buk Bilong Pikinini’s Digital Learning Program, which is the digital evolution of our literacy and numeracy curriculum and much more. Through this program, children are able to access engaging, interactive learning content that complements classroom teaching and helps build essential digital skills for the future. As technology and educational needs continue to evolve, we remain committed to regularly updating and expanding the program to ensure our students benefit from relevant, high-quality learning resources.

Partnerships such as this demonstrate what can be achieved when organisations work together with a shared vision of empowering Papua New Guinea’s next generation through education."

Yolande Gui, Executive Director, PNG Namba Wan Trophy Limited (NWTL), in her remarks, said “NWTL is proud to partner with Buk Bilong Pikinini in supporting digital learning opportunities for children in Papua New Guinea. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education and the tools needed to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Through this partnership, we are investing not only in technology, but in the future potential of our nation’s young people. Together, we can help create brighter opportunities, stronger communities, and a more prosperous Papua New Guinea.”

The partnership further strengthens BbP's growing Digital Learning network. Following the recent announcement of Lightspeed as a digital learning partner supporting internet connectivity for BbP’s learning centres, BbP now has four Digital Learning partners: NWTL, Lightspeed, ExxonMobil PNG and Niunet.

Digital Learning plays an important role in helping children develop digital skills and confidence in using technology. At the same time, BbP remains committed to ensuring that technology complements, rather than replaces, traditional reading and literacy development through books.

The organization also maintains strict safeguards around its Digital Learning Program. The tablets access the BbP App, which contains curated and age-appropriate educational content, ensuring children can learn in a safe and controlled digital environment.

BbP sincerely thanks Nambawan Trophy Limited (NWTL) and Fone Haus for their generous support and looks forward to working together to expand learning opportunities for children across Papua New Guinea.
